A Report On The E-C Translation Of Corporation Act Of Pacific Gansu Development PTE LTD(The 50^th Chapter)

The source text of this practice report is selected from the 50~thh Chapter of the“Corporation Act”of Pacific Gansu PTE LTD of Republic of Singapore Private Limited by Share.This report is based on the translation practice of E-C translation of the Corporation Act of Pacific Gansu PTE LTD.The main body of the report is made up of 5 parts,including introduction,source text analysis,preparation,case analysis and conclusion.Firstly,the background of the report and the development of translation of legal English in China are briefly introduced.Secondly,features of the source text including lexis,syntax and discourse are analyzed in this report.And a variety of tools are used to control and guarantee the quality of the target text.Besides,under the guidance of the“translation shift”theory proposed by the famous British translation theorist J.C.Catford,the translator analyzes the level shifts,category shifts and structure shifts,category shifts,unit shifts and system internal shifts that belong to category shifts in detail through specific cases in the fourth chapter.Finally,the translator summarizes the problems and solutions in the process of the translation.
