Study On Painting Therapy To Improve The Expression Ability Of Adolescents With Intellectual Disabilities

As Elias argues,symbolic expression is a manifestation of human comprehensive ability.Painting is an important symbolic expression.Hand treatment for painting is actually an important part of comprehensive empowerment.The origin of painting therapy internationally is very early,but our country started late and developed slowly in this respect.In view of theoretical research and practical considerations,this research adopts participatory observation method.In the course of institutional practice,painting therapy was applied to the intervention treatment of three mentally handicapped teenagers in the S Welfare Home,and the intervention process was studied.It was found that there were some problems.The mentally retarded adolescents in the initial stage of painting treatment could not make full use of it.Painting activities express their true inner thoughts and subjective emotions.The surrounding environment will affect the expression of young people with mental disabilities in the process of painting.It is found through the painting content of mentally handicapped teenagers that they lack a true and reasonable understanding of everyday things.Strengthen the trust between the group members,provide a relaxed atmosphere for painting,respect the group members' interpretation of their creations,follow the law of change,and social workers provide auxiliary assistance to clients.Through the analysis and comparison of the test room-tree-person projection painting test before and after the client,it is found that there have been large changes in the content,size,and interpretation of the painting.Real thoughts of the inner world.Throughout the treatment process,the researcher and the research subject have always maintained an equal partnership,and the intervention method and content are selected according to the status and changes of the research subject,and the intervention thought and process are appropriately adjusted.In order to enhance the effect of symbol empowerment,it is necessary to integrate the client's life into painting therapy,enhance the client's sense of right acquisition and participation,enhance his ability to acquire and use power,and improve the client's inner depression.Relieve his inferiority complex,so that the client is open-minded.Through the guidance of the clients during the treatment process and the continuous encouragement and affirmation of their responses,their self-confidence is improved.Research shows that the client's openness and initiative have been greatly improved and improved,and he is willing to actively express his true heart through painting.It is commendable that through painting and dialogue,they gradually established a certain degree of responsibility.It can be seen that painting therapy helps them find other ways of expression besides language,and also opens a window that allows social workers to better understand their needs.From this point of view,symbol empowerment has a better performance for the services of intellectually disabled clients and is worth promoting.
