Overseas students often make errors in the use of the Chinese words “Jieguo” and“Houguo”.By searching the “HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus” of Beijing Language and Culture University,it is found that there are a total of 998 corpus containing the word “Jieguo”.There are 358 corpus containing the word “Houguo”.The results are summarized as follows: there are 69 error corpus in the use of “Jieguo”.The number of errors in the use of “Houguo” is 40.Among them,there are as many as 79 errors in the misuse of “Jieguo” and “Houguo”.Based on the error analysis theory,this paper summarized and sorted out the error corpus of “Jieguo” and “Houguo” used by overseas students,and found that when overseas students used “Jieguo” and “Houguo”,the following four types of errors occurred: missubstitution,misaddition,omission and wrong order.Among them,missubstitution error is especially serious.Then,this paper makes a detailed analysis of the corpus of " Jieguo" and " Houguo",and thinks that the reasons for the above errors of overseas students in China are both fundamental and direct: the fundamental reason is that the students themselves are not clear about the basic connotation and its using rules of “Jieguo” “Houguo”,including the meaning of “Jieguo” “Houguo”,additional meaning and part of speech,etc;The direct reasons are the negative transfer of overseas students' mother tongue,the negative transfer of knowledge in the target language and the influence of the teaching environment.Starting from the related reasons for the use errors of “Jieguo” and “Houguo”,this paper puts forward some practical teaching strategy,such as situational teaching,diversified discrimination and emphasis on different parts of speech,so as to benefit the actual teaching of “Jieguo” and “Houguo” of front-line teachers.Chinese learners can also learn Chinese words “Jieguo” and “Houguo” more efficiently by eliminating the concept of equivalent words,establishing learning strategies and conducting self-assessment.
