The epitaph is an important burial object in the tombs since the Qin and Han Dynasties.Its content is divided into“Zhi”and “Ming”.Zhi is prose,which records the reason of writing,the pedigree of the tomb owner,life history,burial place,birth and death date,etc.It has extremely high historical value and can provide us with an understanding of the tomb owner's lifetime and the environment in which he lived.Provide a new perspective.Eunuchs have had extremely far-reaching influences in the social,political,economic,military,and cultural fields of the Ming Dynasty.Eunuch research has always been an important field of Ming history research and has achieved fruitful results.However,due to the scholars' profound understanding of the Ming Dynasty's “eunuch”,there are many deficiencies in the preservation of the eunuch's historical materials in the Ming Dynasty,which limits the development and in-depth study of eunuchs.This article attempts to study the eunuchs in the Ming Dynasty based on the epitaphs of eunuchs.The first part analyzes the rise and development of the eunuch's epitaph.Combined with the rising trend of eunuch status in the Ming Dynasty,the reasons for the rise of epitaphs were analyzed.Discuss the development stage of the eunuch's epitaph in stages and analyze its reasons.The second part analyzes the writings of eunuchs in the Ming Dynasty epitaphs.Based on the epitaph text,analyze the reasons why the writer wrote the epitaph,and discuss the common eunuch image in the epitaph.The third part analyzes the special historical data value in the Ming Dynasty epitaph.The eunuch's epitaph records in detail the deeds of the tomb's life,and has a high historical value for the study of the phenomenon that the eunuchs of the Ming Dynasty gave the surname and name,guarding the eunuchs and Gyeonggi as eunuch customs.
