In the pre-renaissance period, portraiture emphasized the accuracy of painted figures.Because of feudal asceticism, images of facade figures or busts with hands could not be painted.During the Renaissance, with the emergence of insight, anatomy, optics and other disciplines, the similarity between the work and the object of expression was no longer the only goal for artists to pursue.Whether the inner emotion of the figure could be shown in the painting became the standard for painters to pursue their personal style.Renaissance portraiture has a high humanistic value and aesthetic value, which was praised by humanists at that time and became a new spiritual core. This kernel has lifted the veil of understanding of the objective world and self-cognition in the middle ages.Renaissance is the most important ideological liberation movement in Europe and even in human history. It is a new cultural movement, which has a huge influence. The shift in people's minds paved the way for a brilliant flicker of humanity. With the decline of religious authority, medieval paintings gradually lost their vitality, and art changed quietly. At that time,Florence was not only the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, but also the place where capitalism first arose. The content of paintings was closely linked with the economic life at that time, which is the main reason that the humanistic consciousness is included in Renaissance portraits.Through the study of the humanistic consciousness in the Italian Renaissance portraits, this paper analyzes the reasons for its emergence and discusses the embodiment of the humanistic consciousness in the Italian Renaissance portraits.
