On Village Writing In Li Peifu’s Novels

As a realist writer in the contemporary Chinese literary world,Li Peifu creates a large number of works reflecting the local feelings with a strong local complex.He gazed at the land under his feet with deep eyes,and at the same time,he also showed the real life state of people living in the land.There are many typical representative villages in Li Peifu’s works.Each village has its own different experiences and changes.Li Peifu discusses and reflects on different topics in his narration of these different villages.At the same time,he also depicts a variety of rural characters,which are rooted in the main community of the Central Plains.There are different identities and personalities of village officials,ordinary people and outsiders.Li Peifu’s rural life experience in his childhood and educated youth made him establish a strong attachment to the land.He expressed his passionate love and pure praise for the land.In addition to his love for the land complex,he also reflected and discussed the phenomenon of peasants leaving the land and the differences between urban and rural areas in the current society.Through the description of the land defectors,he proposed to rebuild the spiritual home Argumentation embodies Li Peifu’s strong sense of social responsibility and writer’s sense of mission.The thesis is divided into three chapters to analyze the village writing in Li Peifu’s novels.The first chapter analyzes the typical villages written by Li Peifu from the perspective of literature.Through the writing of different villages,Li Peifu shows different emphases and discussion points.Among them,Wuliang village is a traditional village with the mixture of the national evil and the true,the good and the beautiful;hujiapu is a highly modern village under the rule of collectivism;Shangliang village is a transitional village suffering from the impact in the process of urbanization.The second chapter analyzes the characters of different identities and personalities in Li Peifu’s works,mainly including the image of village officials,ordinary people and outsiders.Among them,the village officials will analyze the power complex prevalent in the countryside,and the ordinary people will analyze the cultural inferiority,life experience,service standards and spiritual pursuit prevalent in the countryside.The part of outsiders will analyze the relationship between blood,geography and villages.The third chapter is to analyze the land writing of Li Peifu’s works,mainly from three parts: love,separation and treason.The part of love for land discusses the close relationship between land and farmers and the profound significance of land to farmers;the part of leaving the land discusses their dual anxiety of identity and spiritual wandering in the city through the analysis of life experience and spiritual world of many people who leave the land in Li Peifu’s works;the part of betraying the land discusses the reason why people who betray the land choose to leave the land in Li Peifu’s works Line inquiry,mainly has the abnormal desire and the spiritual crisis appearance,then discusses the reconstruction spiritual homeland way.
