Storytelling,known for the telling of story,is China’s traditional oral language performing arts,included in the intangible cultural heritage protection list.It is said that storytelling originated in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty,the real popularity of storytelling is in the Song Dynasty’s hook-bar Vasher,from this small stage,Storytelling began to enter people’s vision,rich ordinary people’s life in the city well.But with the development of society and the arrival of the new media era,the storytelling gradually fades out of people’s sight,return to the minority.The documentary An Sudden Clang tells the story of her daily performances,lectures and going out to take the story of her daily performance,teaching and going out to show her adherence to and inheritance of the art of storytelling through the follow-up filming of Pei Guanhong,a music teacher at Liaoning University of Science and Technology’s School of Art.The author analyzes and interprets the graduation works An Sudden Clang from the three aspects of pre-planning,mid-stage filming and post-editing,and uses this to write the thesis.This paper is divided into three parts,namely,the establishment of the subject,the choice of shooting space and the re-creation of image clips.In the first part,the relationship between documentary and characters is discussed,how to discover and establish the characters,and analyze the relationship between the choice of characters and the presentation of humanistic spirit.In the second part,it mainly discusses why different spaces should be chosen for shooting,and discusses how the choice between footage and observation angle and the relationship between shooting techniques and character shaping are discussed.The third part mainly starts with the clip,discusses the determination of the editing idea and the reconstruction of the relationship between time and space in the process of late editing,and analyzes the relationship between authenticity and artistry in the documentary.
