Metaphors are not only convenient, they are essential.Metaphor is a way of cognition, which represents abstract concepts by means of concrete concepts, and maps the concrete and simple original concepts to abstract and complex target concepts,so as to achieve representational abstract thinking.Metaphors represent abstract concepts by means of concrete concepts. When people represent and process other cognitive domains through color domains, color metaphors come into being.Titer is conceptualized as a measure of pleasure and is passed from pleasure to unhappiness;Or rating from positive to negative.Emotional valence is divided into positive and negative emotions. Some researchers have proved that the existence of color metaphor has psychological reality.Further, the researchers found that people now commonly use colors to represent emotions, such as red to express anger. It was also found that bright colors led to positive comments, while dark colors led to negative comments. The new view of Embodied Cognition holds that cognition is deeply rooted in the interaction between the body and the world, making it possible to understand cognition in its direct interaction with the environment and in the way,we behave in the environment. For Tibetans, the Tibetan word black contains derogatory meanings. All the characters wearing black masks are vicious and cruel monsters.Black also has the meaning of majesty and solemnity. In the black Thangka, black represents the power and majesty of the tantric gods. The meaning of white is pure,sacred,pollution-free,and auspicious.Tibetans have great worship for white. For the Han,black is more closely associated with negative aspects of the human experience, such as death, plague, and famine.Black also symbolizes dignity, fortitude and severity. In traditional Chinese culture, white is mainly a symbol of solemnity and mourning.White is also the expression of justice and kindness, such as "angels in white".But for both peoples, white and black are seen as opposites.Based on this, this article will explore the connection and similarities between black and white metaphors and emotional valence in the context of Tibetan-Chinese culture.Experiment one is part of speech judgment task,to explore whether the representation of black and white color in the processing of Tibetan and Han emotions has psychological reality.Using 2(Vocabulary: positive words, negative words)x2(Color: black, white)experimental design, and the reaction time is the dependent variable. The results of experiment 1 are as follows.(1)Both the Han and the Tibetans have a black and white metaphorical consistency effect in the semantic processing of emotional words.(2)The main effect of emotional valence is significant. When emotional vocabulary appeared, participants' response to choosing negative vocabulary was significantly greater than positive vocabulary.(3)The main effect of font color is significant. The reaction time of the words with black font was greater than that of the words with white font.(4)The main effect of participants type is significant. The response time of Han subjects was greater than that of Tibetan subjects.Experiment 2 uses the implicit association test.To explore the difference in the intensity of implicit ties between Tibetan and Chinese ethnics' emotional valence and black and white metaphors.Experiment design using single factor among subjects, independent variable is national minority. The dependent variable is the response of the subjects in the compatible and incompatible joint tasks. The results of experiment 1 are as follows.(1)The main effect of the experiment was significant.Indicates that the response time of incompatible task is greater than that of the compatible task,At the implicit attitude level, participants associated black with negative words and white with positive words. It indicates that the bond strength of Tibetan subjects is greater than that of Han subjects.(2)The D value of Tibetan subjects was greater than that of Han subjects. In addition, the independent sample t test showed that the response of Tibetan subjects was significantly faster than that of Han subjects. The whole research shows that the Tibetan and the Han nationality have the consistency effect of black and white metaphor in the semantic processing of emotional words. However, the metaphorical way is influenced by their respective cultures, which reflects the situational nature of human embodied cognition.
