A Study On The Historical Evolution Of Career Guidance In The Period Of The Republic Of China(1911-1949)

The vocational guidance in the Republic of China is a major innovation in the field of Education under the influence of the world trend of thought.On the basis of importing and disseminating foreign advanced theories,combined with the actual situation of that time,it formed a unique ideological system and practical communication system.The theory of vocational guidance has undergone great changes from concept,connotation,purpose and function to steps and methods.Schools,associations and governments have played different roles and have gone through an unusual30 years(1911-1949).During the period of the Republic of China,vocational guidance has a profound influence,not only the beginning of the modernization of vocational guidance,but also occupies an important position in the history of Chinese education.The study of its development process is of great significance to solve the problems of high unemployment rate and difficult employment of graduates.The research content of this paper is divided into five parts,as follows:The first part is the introduction,which mainly discusses the research background,research purpose and research significance,briefly introduces the existing research status in China,and expounds the research content,research methods and innovation of this paper.The second part discusses the birth and germination of vocational guidance during the Republic of China(1911-1926).The origin of the germination and development of vocational guidance in the period of the Republic of China lies in the input and dissemination of foreign vocational guidance theory and practice,as well as the internal needs of social development at that time.After the initial formation of vocational guidance,the early vocational guidance movement of Qinghua School and China vocational education society began to take shape.The third part discusses the rise and development of career guidance in the period of the Republic of China(1927-1936).During the period of the Republic of China,there were many career directors who actively engaged in theoretical research.This paper explores the connotation,purpose,function and task of vocational guidance,as well as the principles,steps and methods of its implementation,and has achieved fruitful results.As the backbone of vocational guidance,China Vocational Education Society,Shanghai Vocational Guidance Institute and YMCA have also made important contributions in solving unemployment and maintaining social stability.The fourth part discusses the decline of vocational guidance in the period of the Republic of China(1937-1949).Due to the war and the limitations of their own thoughts,the development of career guidance in the period of the Republic of China was limited in this period.In the period of Anti Japanese War,Chinese Vocational Education Society and vocational guidance were in a gap,and faced with transformation and change.Since then,vocational guidance has opened a new development path.The fifth part discusses the historical experience of the development of career guidance in the period of the Republic of China and Its Enlightenment to today.On the one hand,under the guidance of advanced theories,vocational guidance in the period of the Republic of China has developed to a certain extent;on the other hand,due to the defects of its own development and the limitations of the society at that time,its effectiveness has not been as expected.This part summarizes and reflects the historical experience and lessons of career guidance in the period of the Republic of China,and summarizes the important practical enlightenment for career guidance in the new situation.
