Analysis Of Bi Shumin's Novel Characters From The Perspective Of Psychology

Bi Shumin,a national first-class writer and vice-chairman of the Beijing Writers Association,has a high status in the field of literature.The existed research on Bi Shumin is less than other first-class female writers',such as Wang Anyi and Zhang Jie.In fact,the study on Bi Shumin still needs to be more comprehensive and profound.Of all the researches on Bi Shumin's works,the prose accounted for a larger proportion,while novels accounted less.Of all her works,novels only stand a small part,so there aren't many materials to study.This paper attempts to use psychology as an entry point to analyze the characters and the relationship between characters in her novels,so as to dig deeper into the inner world of the characters and explore the causes of the relationship between special characters.Through the writing of characters and their relationships,writers convey to readers their thoughts about the existence of life and the value of survival.This paper consists five parts,the first part,the introduction,has briefly elucidated the research reasons and the significance firstly,and then summarized her novel creation and confirmed the research object of this topic.Finally,it analyzed the current research situation of her novels and pointed out the deficiencies on current research.The first chapter analyzed the psychological conditions of typical characters.Started with the three typical characters in her novels,to analyzes characters,the abnormality of characters' behavior and the reasons for the behavior patter from a psychological perspective.So the characters can be understand more deeply.The second chapter is the psychological analysis of the relationship between characters.This chapter analyzed characters' relationships instead of characters themselves.There are lots of abnormal character relationships in her novels.In this paper,three prominent types of character relationships: the odd-couple relationships,the unconventional doctor-patient relationship,and the selfish mentor-apprentice relationship were selected to analyze the causes of this abnormal relationship and writer's purposes for writing these kinds of relationships.The third chapter studies the life existence of characters.Through the analysis of characters and their relationship,to gradually understand that the author's creation purpose is actually to think about the existence of life.This chapter expounds three kinds of conceptions of life,the writing of life as light as rushes,the writing of struggling predicament,and the writing of life from death to birth in her novels.Meanwhile,by narrating the expressions of indifference to life in her novels,to get her understanding of the existence of life and the meaning of survival.The fifth part is conclusion,which summarized that the basic starting point of Bi Shumin's novel is to envisage life,to watch for people's living conditions,and to explore the meaning of life.It also gives a brief description of the problems in character creation in her novel writing.
