Tense and Lax vowel is one of the important phonetic features in the Yi branch of the Tibetan-Burmese language of the Sino-Tibetan family. It appears and is very frequently in using in Lisu language, and mainly plays an opposite role in distinguishing the meaning of words in the phonological system. It include two groups: flat tone type T3(tense)and T4(lax),down tone type T5(tense)and T6(lax).Lisu nationality belongs to the cross-border ethnic group, which mainly lives in China,Myanmar,Thailand and India. In China, there are different degrees of Lisu dialect differences between regions due to the distribution of the form of large dispersion and small population,as well as by geography, transportation, surrounding ethnic groups and other factors. The Lisu language of Muchengpo belongs to the Nujiang dialect area according to the domestic classification, and belongs to the Central Lisu dialect area according to the foreign classification. This paper uses the latter classification to carry on the thesis elaboration. This paper include six parts:Chapter 1 is the introduction, which briefly describes the reason and purpose of the topic, the significance and value of the research, the difficulties and innovations of the research, and the research results on lisu and related languages.Chapter 2,based on the first-hand survey corpus, describes the actual phonemic system in lisu language.Chapter 3,based on the theory of sound state framework from the perspectives of physiology, hearing sense and acoustics, and combined with the pronunciation characteristics of phonemic system speakers in chapter 2,the author preliminarily discussed the sound characteristics of flat tone type T3(tense)and T4(lax)and down tone type T5(tense)and T6(lax).Chapter 4,by using the methods of experimental phonetics and statistics, the acoustic parameters of the Tense and Lax vowel of Muchengpo Lisu are quantitatively compared from four aspects: spectrum slope H1-H2 value, tone fundamental frequency F0,tone duration and vowel resonance peak.To investigate the essence of the Tense and Lax vowel. In addition,by comparing the measurement methods used in the chapter 3,the results of the vowel full-time measurement method are more in line with the reality of the language.Chapter 5,the author discusses the cracking sound and the final glottal stop in T5(tense)of Lisu language.Chapter 6 is the conclusion.
