| Transitivity processes in Systematic Functional Linguistics, namely existential, material, behavioral, mental, relational and verbal, were introduced by M.A.K.Halliday and are used to describe the states and events of the world, both real and unreal.Entitled “Transitivity Process Transference from the Perspective of Systemic Functional Grammar”,this paper aims to establish the possibility that existential process is transferrable to other five processes in translation and to analyze the rhetorical effects of such transferences. The analyses in this paper are performed in accordance with the theories established by Halliday and the analytical results show that existential process is transferable to other five transitivity processes and that readability, information density, and cohesiveness are increased when existential process is transferred to other five processes. |
