This report reviews and discusses the translation of a service contract which was signed by VEO Information Service Co.,Ltd.and space operators and service providers using WEWORK services. The service contract belongs to the prescriptive text, which emphasizes accurate wording, rigorous structure and standardized format. This report chooses the contract as the SL text mainly for two reasons.First, the contract itself is the text form used commonly in many industries such as business, chemical industry and finance. Therefore, contract translation is an important type of translation for legal translators in that they can provide quality legal translation services for multinationals, law firms, translation companies, banks and many others in the future.Second, contents of the contract involve the field of shared office space.Shared office,as an emerging field of much currency, has gradually been known to people, and this kind of flexible office space can not only guide the reform of enterprises, but also motivate knowledge sharing and reallocate assets.Accordingly, the study of the contract itself opens doors to an emerging field. This report provides a brief introduction to the background, the language features and text type of the source text and the reasons for choosing the source text. The author describes the whole translation process which mainly includes pre-translation preparation, the schedule and post-translation management.Besides, the author mainly discusses the typical problems in the translation at three levels: at the lexical level,at the mood and modality level and at the structural level and points out relevant solutions under the guidance of three rules in the Skopos theory. In a nutshell, the report is expected to help the reader have a better understanding of contract translation and provide some referential experience for future translators and researchers who are interested in analyzing and studying contract translation.
