Western portrait art in the 19 th century not only sought to reproduce objects,but also paid more attention to the expression of emotions.From the second half of the 19 th century to the beginning of the 20 th century,the unprecedented development of Russian painting art.The artistic thought in this period was very active,and a group of representative art masters emerged.Nicolai Ivanovich Fechin was a painter born in Russia at the end of the 19 th century,who had been dedicated to studying the emotional expression in portrait art for his whole life.Firstly,the historical background in which the artistic emotions of Fechin's portraits formed is introduced.Secondly,the affective factors in Fechin's portrait art is analyzed.Then,this thesis analyzes the emotional experience of the painter,the relationship between the characteristics of the portrait prototype and the emotion,and the emotional resonance of the viewers' aesthetic experience.Finally,the unique emotional expression in Fechin's portrait is explored through the analysis of the emotional expression of color and brushwork in his portrait language.Research on the emotional expression in Fechin's portrait art also has practical guiding significance for contemporary portrait creation.On this basis,the author explores the expression of emotion in contemporary portrait art through graduation creation.
