In 1980s,quite a number of researches and practices had been carried out by some second-language teaching researchers thus subsequently a new teaching theory which has imposed significant influence since then was brought up,namely,task-based language teaching.With reference to such theory and sufficient practical results inferred by the second-language teaching researchers on the task-based teaching methods at home and abroad,and in combination of some particular characteristics of the teaching methods of business Chinese writing,the author hereby adopts the task-based teaching method to business Chinese writing course in relation to commercial operation.In order to have a specific comparison between the traditional 3P teaching method and the task-based teaching method,the author undertakes a contrast experiment by selecting two senior classes from the International College of Chinese Studies,Shanghai Normal University,which respectively are Class 2 as the experimental class,Class 3 as the control class,and this can be seen as another practical research in adopting task-based teaching method to business Chinese writing course in relation to commercial operation.In the first part of this thesis,the author will expound the value of such research,the theoretical basis and introduce the status quo of relevant researches at home and abroad.In the second part,some comments are made on the theories in relation to task-based teaching method meanwhile the feasibility of task-based teaching method as to Business Chinese Writing is also discussed.In the third part,the author puts down her practice on the application of task-based teaching method in business Chinese writing course in relation to commercial operation.In specific,the author firstly analyzes the feasibility of conducting comparative teaching then sets out the instructional design for application of the task-based teaching method and the traditional 3P teaching method in Business Chinese Writing course.In the fourth part,by giving out the test results of the two classes which respectively adopt the task-based teaching method and the traditional 3P teaching method in business Chinese writing,the author conducts an objective comparison in terms of efficacy of adopting task-based teaching method and traditional 3P teaching method to Business Chinese Writing,besides that,a questionnaire survey is also carried out to inquire the students about the author’s task-based teaching class as to business Chinese writing.The fifth part mainly discusses the merits of adopting task-based teaching method and the influence on teachers and students,apart from that,it also refers to some practical suggestions made on the factual basis.Thereafter the last part concludes this thesis.In a nutshell,there are some obvious merits in adopting task-based teaching method to business Chinese writing,for example,it will provide students more opportunity to express themselves in class,thus it could stimulate students to have more enthusiasm for learning,it can help students positively lead the class,it would to some extent improve students’ writing and various abilities by way of more communication and have students experience vivid business activities in class.However,there are also some limitations of adopting task-based teaching method in its actual operation,for example,it does not stipulate any standards for the teachers to design their tasks,it is not easy for the teachers to balance the difficulty level,besides that,it might increase the learning burden upon the students with poor Chinese language proficiency.Therefore,as for teachers,they should not only see the merits of the task-based teaching method but also its limitations,only in this way could they make much more comprehensive preparation for their teaching before class.
