A Study On Flute Instruments And Its Application From Han Dynasty To Tang Dynasty

This paper mainly studies Flute and Xiao and their application in the Han and Tang Dynasties.Flute and Xiao,enjoying a long history of development,whose shapes and tunes have been integrated and innovated in different dynasties.The application of Flute and Xiao is also influenced by the alternations of dynasties.This paper summarizes the performance characteristics of Flute and Xiao,and analyzes their application in different periods and occasions through their shape development and representative works in the Han and Tang Dynasties.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part introduces the shapes of Flute and Xiao in the Han and Tang Dynasties.In this part,the features of the shapes of Flute and Xiao from Han Dynasty to Tang Dynasty are summarized,and their development in different periods are compared.The second part is the analysis of the representative tunes and performance of Flute and Xiao in the Han and Tang Dynasties.This part mainly analyzes two representative work names “Fall of the Plum Blossoms” and “Picking up a Willow”.The origin and development as well as the emotion expressed by the music is analyzed,and the performance characteristics of Flute and Xiao is summarized.The third part is the application of Flute and Xiao in the folk.This part mainly analyzes the application of Flute and Xiao in folk music in the Han and Tang Dynasties.Their application in music,dance and entertainment of various operas is analyzed and summarized.The fourth part introduces the application of Flute and Xiao in the court.This part mainly analyzes the application of Flute and Xiao in the court music of Han and Tang Dynasties,especially in the court music of Wei,Jin,Sui and Tang Dynasties.
