The Cognition Of Joseon Dynasty's For Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement

At present,the research on Joseon Dynasty's Cognition of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement is mostly scattered in the history of the relations in the late Qing Dynasty and the evolution of Joseon Dynasty's concept of the Qing Dynasty.There are few related works about Joseon Dynasty's Cognition of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement.This paper will focus on this issue.Based on the analysis of Joseon Dynasty's intelligence collection activities for the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement,it will study Joseon Dynasty's cognition of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement in three periods.First,Joseon Dynasty's Cognition of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement before the fall of Wuchang(1851-1853).Second,Joseon Dynasty's Cognition of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement before the Tianjing incident(1853-1856).Third,Joseon Dynasty's Cognition of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement after the Tianjing incident(1856-1864).In addition to the intermediate part.This paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is mainly about introduction.This paper introduces the significance of the topic,combs the research status of this problem in the academic community and summarizes the shortcomings of the current research.At the same time,it also expounds the research ideas of this paper and explains the innovation points and difficulties.The second chapter is information: Joseon Dynasty's intelligence collection of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement.Joseon Dynasty has already formed acommunity of common destiny with the Qing Dynasty,so they always pays special attention to the development situation of the Qing Dynasty.Joseon Dynasty Envoys are responsible for spying on intelligence,the information they bring back becomes an important basis for Joseon Dynasty monarchs and their ministers to understand the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement.This chapter will focus on three main ways for the envoys of Joseon Dynasty to obtain information,it is official documents that is the most important information source,information collection that is intelligence collecting on the way,detection which is the interaction with the intellectual class.The third chapter is clown rebellion: The cognition of Joseon Dynasty's for Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement before Wuchang fall(1851-1853).During this period,the Korean monarchs and ministers did not realize the damage and impact of the Taiping Movement on the Qing Dynasty due to the limited information of the envoys.Under the influence of the tradition of "great affairs",the Korean monarchs and ministers all consciously stood on the position of the Qing Dynasty to view the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement,that is to say,the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement was regarded as "clown rebellion".The fourth chapter is insufficient for worry: The cognition of Joseon Dynasty's for Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement before the Tianjing incident(1853-1856).In this period,the Korean monarchs and ministers because they had a rich understanding of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement.Based on the indirect observation of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement,the envoys of Korea made their own judgments and reflections which directly affected the cognition of themilitary ministers of Korea on the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement.Under the influence of many factors,the Korean monarchs and ministers came to the conclusion that the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement was not enough to worry about after analyzing the information.The fifth chapter is boundary stalemate: The cognition of Joseon Dynasty's for Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement after the Tianjing incident(1856-1864).During this period,although the envoys of Joseon Dynasty kept a high degree of attention to Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement,they did not have a deep understanding of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement.Therefore,most of the envoys reported truthfully according to the situation of "boundary stalemate" between the Qing and the Taiping army.The kings and ministers of Joseon Dynasty also continued their previous cognition that the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement was regarded as "banditry".Conclusion.According to the study of the above chapters,this paper summarizes the cognition of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom movement,and then expounds the influence of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement on the situation in Korea.
