The Study Of Zi Gong's Speech

As a representative of Confucius' speech subject,Zi Gong left a lot of speech materials.In this paper,the unearthed documents and the handed down documents of Zi Gong language materials were compiled,and the content,characteristics and contributions of Zi Gong language were explored.This paper is divided into two mainly parts: the main body and the appendix.The first chapter of the text discusses the life story of Zi Gong,reviews his school life and official career according to the early,middle and late stages,and investigates the two most concerned issues of Zi Gong in the academic circle,namely,the preservation of Lu and engagement in trade.The second chapter is the record of Zi Gong language.Based on the way of literature reading and statistical analysis,the thesis systematically analyzes the recording situation of Zi Gong's speech in unearthed documents from pre-Qin to Wei and Jin Dynasties.8 pieces of Zi Gong's language materials were collected from bamboo slips of Dingzhou Han tomb,silk books of Mawangdui Han tomb and Chu bamboo books of Warring States period collected in Shanghai Museum;155,49 and 44 pieces of Zi Gong's language materials were collected from Confucian,historical and other handed down documents;56 groups of handed down documents were reprinted in tabular form Statistics and analysis of the contents recorded.The third chapter is the classification of Zi Gong's speech,which explores his contents from four aspects: the words of inquiry and ambition,the words of knowing people and discussing people,the words of knowing Confucius and respecting Confucius,and the words of political affairs and foreign affairs.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the style and contribution of Zi Gong's speech.The thesis summarizes his speech style from “cleverness” and “fine words”,remarked by Sima Qian.The thesis also probes into the contribution of Zigong's speech to Confucianism and other doctrines.The appendix is a compilation of Zi Gong's speech materials.154 pieces of speech materials collected(excluding repeated records)are classified into five categories: "early stage","middle stage","late stage","unclear era" and " derivatives ".
