Research Of The Lady For Vision In The View From Anthropology

The "The Lady for Vision",which is the "the Saint-Mother of Vision for Light and Bright" and "the Goddess of Bright Vision" in Taoism and the worship of folk beliefs.It is also known as "the Old Mother of Vision","the Grandma of Vision" and "the Female Tathagata for Vision" as well as the "Mother of Eyes",and it is a folk worship which is popular in many regions of China.Besides that,it is also a form of "eye worship" around the worldwide."The Lady for Vision" was originated from Taoism's "Bixia Yuanjun"belief,and then with the development of time,it continued to differentiate its beliefs.And thus,it produced "the Lady for Vision".For a long time,worshippers believed that sacrificing the "the Lady for Vision" had the effect of treating eye diseases.In addition,with the development of its own worship,"the Lady for Vision" also has "divinities"such as controlling the number of children,controlling the appearance of the fetus,and controlling the future."The Lady for Vision" in the Y district was born in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties.After many twists and turns,it is still worshiped by the people in the Y district and has become a local culture.Since the 1990s,with the new researches on folk beliefs and worship,academic circles at home and abroad have increased their researches on some of the columns regarded as folk deities,and the content of researches has become increasingly diverse,specialized and systematic.This article adopts the research methods of cultural anthropology,sociology,etc.,and conducts field research on the worship of "the Lady for Vision" in the Y district.Based on the investigation of "the Lady for Vision" in Y district,this article combines the contents of "eye worship" at home and abroad,from the perspective of history,geography,development of mythology,and social solidarity,community construction and culture.With them,this paper analyzes and studies how the traditional folk worship of "the Lady for Vision" continues and develops in the 21st century today.The first part of the article is an introduction.This part mainly introduces the origin of the research in this article,gives some relevant concepts,and reviews some related researches at home and abroad.At the same time,it also introduces the theory and research methods used in this research,the significance of the research significance and innovations of it.The second part of the article consists of five chapters.The first chapter mainly summarizes the folk worship of the "the Lady for Vision".First of all,the basic origin of "the Lady for Vision",the distribution of the statues,and the basic conditions in some areas at home and abroad were introduced.Then,the field location Y district was briefly introduced and the geographical environment and historical evolution of the Y district were sorted out.The second chapter discusses the origin and formation of the worship of the "the Lady for Vision".As far as the origin of the "Eye of the Vision Lady" is concerned,it is mainly analyzed based on the two clues of "goddess worship" and "eye worship".Then,this article further explores the cause analysis of this worship,and analyzes it from two perspectives:the "new evolution" of anthropology and the self-construction of the contemporary folklore system.The third chapter mainly introduces the ritual and status quo of worship of "the Lady for Vision".This chapter first discusses the worship of "the Lady for Vision"according to different regions,and then summarizes some of its characteristics in Y district.After that,it deeply described,analyzed and explored the ritual and connotation of the worship of "the Lady for Vision".In the end,this chapter summarizes and discusses the characteristics of the worship group of "the Lady for Vision" based on the content of field investigation.The fourth chapter is the evolution and differentiation of the "the Lady for Vision".First of all,the characteristics of worship of "the Lady for Vision" are analyzed,and then the relationship between "the Lady for Vision" and other worship systems is discussed mainly focusing on relations between the worship of "the Lady for Vision",the Taoist fairy worship,and worship of Y District's Chenghuang.The fifth chapter discusses the social function of "the Lady for Vision".First of all,this chapter analyzes the decline of the worship of "the Lady for Vision" in the past,and then analyzes its newly transformation in the present.After that,it analyzes its social function,and points out its compensatory function in the belief system,its constructive function in the secular practice,its pleasure and satisfaction function in the mass self-issued behavior,and its function of shaping local culture.Finally,the positive and negative effects of its function are analyzed and considered.The third part of the article is the conclusion part.This section summarizes the historical evolution,development trajectory of "the Lady for Vision" and its position in"Eye Worship".It also described the influence and significance of the "the Lady for Vision" in the Y Hall of Y district on the people's spiritual life in Y district.
