During the Zhou period, women widely participated in family work, social production and other aspects, and had a certain impact in the society at that time.By classifying and combing the phenomenon of women's participation in work of different classes and different identities in the Zhou period,we can not only understand the background of women's participation in various work, but also more accurately count the specific types of work women are engaged in,as well as to understand the role and status of women in the family and society. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, the emperor was the owner of the world, the agricultural family was actually the reserve unit of the national labor force, and most of the women's labor also served the nobility. After the spring and Autumn period, the small-scale peasant family has become the basic unit of social production at the grass-roots level. The form of combination of farming and weaving and the mode of production determine the important position of women's work.Through the statistics of women's participation in the Zhou period,we can see that women's participation in the work mainly includes textile, farming, collection, wine making, medical practice, divination, business and so on.During the Zhou period, women's participation in work has the following functions:leading textile activities, making textile industry flourish, ensuring people's clothing demand;assisting agricultural production and collection, improving labor efficiency, ensuring people's food demand;engaging in commodity exchange behavior, promoting commercial development, and promoting social and economic progress.Women's participation in the Zhou period not only ensures the survival and stability of individual families to a certain extent, but also contributes to social development, promotes economic development, stabilizes social structure, and lays a foundation for the diversified development of women in later generations.
