In this study,42 children(21 males and 21 females)from a large class in a first-level kindergarten in Chengdu were selected as the research objects. The event sampling method and interview method were used to study the children’s humorous behaviors.Qualitative analysis software(NVIVO11)was used to analyze and sort the collected data. The analysis results are as follows.First,it can be divided into actional, verbal and compound humorous behaviors according to the form of expression, among which verbal humorous behaviors are the most frequent. The purpose of humorous behaviors includes perfecting peer relationships, attracting attention, demeaning others, ect.,among which the last one is the most common.Secondly, according to different classification standards, the characteristics of humorous behaviors are also quite different. For example, children tend to incorporate actions such as "hit" or "kick" in actional humorous behaviors;and children tend to use verbal expressions to gain peer favors and improve peer relationships by sharing things with the same stance.Furthermore, there are gender differences in the children’s humorous behaviors. The frequency of humorous behavior among boys is slightly higher than girls. Finally, from the perspective of peer relationship, children who are often rejected tend to express taboo diction or debase others.Popular children tend to express substitutional diction and try to attract other’s attention, and their humorous behaviors are more frequently imitated or recomposed than others.Based on the above results, this paper further analyzes the factors that affect children’s humorous behaviors, including environmental atmosphere, media, teacher’s feedback, humorous materials and the degree of metacommunication.Corresponding strategies for the cultivation of children’s humorous behaviors are proposed,so as to promote the development of children.
