With the rapid development of globalization,intercultural communication is becoming increasingly frequent.As a kind of cultural understanding,intercultural awareness plays an important role in solving cultural conflicts and promoting cultural communication in intercultural communication,hence,the cultivation of intercultural awareness is of vital importance.At the same time,in the Senior Middle School English Teaching of China,intercultural awareness cultivation is also incorporated into the English curriculum standard and cultivated in the way of cultural teaching,however,the final teaching results are not satisfactory.The reason lies in that the teaching objectives and teaching methods are largely designed from the perspective of teaching,the cultural teaching methods are mainly the formal and regular mechanical imparting of culture knowledge,thus the learners' cultural experiences are neglected in the teaching process.In order to improve the current intercultural awareness cultivation situation that students' cultural learning experience is neglected in Senior Middle School English Teaching,this thesis selected 31 international class senior high students,Grade 2,Long Quan No.2 Middle School,Chengdu city,Sichuan province,as research participants,and applied experiential teaching to the practical English teaching,to explore the influences of experiential teaching on students' intercultural awareness cultivation and students' feedbacks on the application of experiential teaching to cultivating intercultural awareness.After a term of the application of experiential teaching to cultivating intercultural awareness in Long Quan No.2 Middle School.Questionnaire,test and interview are selected as the research instruments to collect data.The final results from the data show that the application of experiential teaching is helpful for improving the current intercultural awareness cultivation situation that students' cultural learning experience is neglected in Senior Middle School English Teaching;the application of experiential teaching can enrich students' culture knowledge,improve cultural understanding level,transfer students' attitudes towards cultural differences,improve cultural learning interest,then,contributing to cultivate intercultural awareness;meanwhile,there are also some students' feedbacks on the application of experiential teaching in intercultural awareness cultivation,for example,students' learning differences,selection of teaching topics and tasks,design and operation of teaching activities.Finally,the author puts forward some applicable pedagogical suggestions based on this research: in the process of cultivating intercultural awareness,we should attach importance to the creation of cultural situation and design of cultural activities,so as to prompte the generation of students' learing experience.Meanwhile,teachers need to enrich culture knowledge so as to better promote students' cultural learning in practical teaching.
