| As a medium of international communication,English has become more and more important.Writing ability,as one of the most important parts of comprehensive language ability,plays a vital role in the English teaching.At present,the English writing situation of primary school students is not optimistic.The reasons are that teachers do not have scientific and efficient writing teaching methods.Students lack appropriate writing strategies,and do not know what to write and how to write,which makes students gradually lose interest and confidence in writing.In general,it is a neglect of English writing teaching.In order to find an effective teaching method,the author applies schema theory to English writing teaching in a primary school.The author absorbs the factors that are useful to writing teaching,combines primary school English teaching materials and writing teaching to implement the schema theory into English writing teaching.In the teaching process,the author adopts the method of activating schemata,creating schemata and consolidating schemata for teaching,making the writing teaching a cyclic and dynamic process.Hopefully,this teaching approach can cultivate students’ interest in writing and promote students’ knowledge accumulation.The study mainly discusses the following three research questions: Firstly,what are the changes of students’ interest by applying schema theory to the English writing?Secondly,what is the influence of applying schema theory writing teaching approach on students’ writing habit? Thirdly,what are the effects of schema theory to students’ writing ability in primary school? The author conducted the English writing teaching experiment based on schema theory in No.3 Primary School in Hunnan District of Shenyang for three months.The author selected two parallel classes as the research subjects.Class 1,Grade 5 with 54 students was the experimental class(EC),Class 2,Grade 5 with 54 students was the control class(CC).The author used questionnaires,tests and interviews to carry out the experiment.After the experiment,SPSS software was used to sort out and analyze the data.The following is the major finding of the experiment: Firstly,English writing teaching based on schema theory can increase primary school students’ interest in English writing.Secondly,English writing teaching based on schema theory can promote students to form good writing habits and strategies.Thirdly,English teaching in primary schools based on schema theory can effectively improve students’ English writing ability. |
