| Local sentiment has always been one of the important creative sources for contemporary Chinese landscape painters. The attachment to the hometown and the longing for idyllic pastoralists are the artist’s feelings and expression of emotion in today’s society.Under the tide of modern city, the theme of local feelings not only failed to fade the trend of history, but with the nostalgic characteristics of the re-emergence.Contemporary landscape paintings represented by painters such as Wang Keju,Bai Yu-ping,Zhang Dong-feng,Chen He-xi,Duan Zheng qun,Cui Guo qiang and nu er mai mai ti use local feelings as their emotional motivation to create native land. They love the rustic nature of the mountainous countryside. In their paintings, one can see that they think about life, the relationship between people and society, and the symbiotic relationship between man and nature. They brought the simple and peaceful rural life back into the eyes of the people and aroused people’s nostalgia towards their hometown.Since the reform and opening up,with the rapid development of China’s economy, people’s pursuit of material life has gradually become the mainstream.Fast-paced life and heavy pressure have taken up most of the people’s thoughts, and their attachment to the hometown has gradually been neglected.Because people’s lifestyles have undergone tremendous changes over the past, the environment for creating oil paintings is also different from the past. Therefore,it is even more rare for oil-painting works to show native feelings. From the history of the development of landscape painting,I draw my thoughts on the local sentiment in the contemporary Chinese landscape oil paintings, and explore the essence of the native sentiment, that is,the sentimentality of attachment to hometown and the longing for pastoral life. From the perspective of nationality and regionality Through analyzing the practical works of the contemporary Chinese native landscape artist, the author explores the creative thinking and emotional expression of the artist, and considers the future development through the study of the painter’s native feelings. |
