Under the background of social transformation in contemporary China, new social problems keep emerging. With the improvement of citizens' cultural level, the enhancement of awareness of rule of law and rights protection, and the development of the Internet, more and more citizens begin to participate in social issues and safeguard their rights and interests.Under the influence of the vigorous development of the western media activism after the 1960s,documentary filmmakers are no longer satisfied with simple observation and recording documentation, but add their own reflection to the creation, and put themselves into the action of social improvement, resulting in China's social documentary. From the current situation, social documentary is not only an important activity of domestic media activism, but also an important force to promote civil rights, reveal social problems and promote social progress. However, there are few related academic studies in China, and media activism and social documentaries are still relatively unfamiliar to many people. This paper combines the relevant theoretical background, taking the graduation work "Owner's Committee" as an example, and explores the problems of image practice from the intervention of the creator, hoping to have reference value for other filmmakers.
