English is one of the main subjects for senior high school students,which consists of listening,speaking,reading and writing.Writing,as an output skill,accounts for a considerable proportion in the college entrance examination.Thus it can be seen that English writing is an important teaching task for English teachers.However,there are many problems in the teaching of English writing in China.For example,teachers do not attach importance to it;teaching design is monotonous and dull,and writing assignments are given without review and feedback,which lead to students' lack of writing motivation,poor writing ability and teachers' writing teaching ability to be improved.According to the current situation of English teaching in China,the Production-Oriented Approach(POA)is put forward in the light of students' psychological characteristics and the requirements of English teaching.Therefore,based on POA,the author constructs a WRITE(Writing,Reading,Instructing,Training,Evaluating)writing teaching mode based on the theory,aiming at studying the impact of Production-Oriented Approach on senior high school students' interest in English writing and their writing performances.The author selected two parallel classes in Senior One of the Affiliated High School of FIE to conduct a three-month teaching empirical study.The study uses questionnaires,pre-test and post-test as the research methods and applies SPSS data analysis to know the impact of the teaching mode on students' writing motivation and achievement.The results show that the teaching mode of English writing in senior high schools based on the theory of Production-Oriented Approach can stimulate the motivation of senior high school students in English writing and improve their English writing performance.Therefore,the Production-Oriented Approach is not only suitable for senior high school English writing teaching,but also has a positive impact on students' writing.What's more,it enriches the theory of POA and provides new teaching ideas and modes for English writing teaching in senior high school.
