Research On The Music Creation Of Dance Drama《hua’er》

The dance drama Hua’er is a large Hui nationality dance drama composed by Zhang Jigang and Zhao Jiping.The whole dance drama(including the prologue and the Epilogue)consists of six plays.Prologue-Hua’er blooms、Act One-Hua’er grows pretty、Act Two-Hua’er turns yellow、Act Three-Hua’er turns red、Act Four-Hua’er withers、Epilogue-Hua’er Forever.It’s about the beautiful Hui singer Hua’er in Northwest China and the good shepherd Shepherd’s love.But because the powerful Caoda has been plotting to take the Hua’er as his third wife.Finally,Hua’er and Shepherd are forced to jump off the cliff.In the prelude,Hua’er and Shepherd theme are fully displayed.The third act focuses on the Hui nationality’s national dance and the unique "Flower Festival".The fourth act is the representation of the theme materials of the characters in the whole dance drama.The music is mainly based on the northwest folk song "Hua’er".The band adopts the double pipe system of western music,but the Chinese national instruments,such as Suona,bamboo flute and Liuqin,are added.The composer integrates these national elements into it,and portrays the national characteristics of Northwest China through characters,plots and music.This paper mainly analyzes the music creation part of the dance drama《Hua’er》,which is divided into four parts:The first part is about Mr.Zhao Jiping’s life and the introduction of the dance drama《Hua’er》;In the second part,through the comparison between the themes and the summary of the unity of the whole dance music,we can find Zhao Jiping’s creative idea when he created the dance music,and in this part,we also briefly analyze the creative characteristics of the audio-visual synesthesia in the dance music;The third part studies and considers the music creation of the dance drama Hua’er from the aspects of the relationship between the plot development and the realization method,the unity of symphony and image,and the relationship between the characterization and scene description;The fourth part is the conclusion of the article,mainly analyzing the experience after the work.The second and third parts are the focus of this paper.Through the above music analysis of《Hua’er》,we hope to improve our ability in music creation and folk music application.
