Since the beginning of the Song Dynasty and the Five Dynasties, the Tibetans,Tanguts, and Han ethnics in the Xihe area have gradually merged and formed a number of ethnically dispersed and incompatible "aborigine Tribes".These Tribes are scattered in the mountains or clustered in cities.Tribal life in farming and semi-herding.Due to the large number of aborigine Tribes of Xihe area, the prosperous tribes, and the weakening of ethnic attributes, their political affiliation and military decision-making no longer depend on ethnic identity as the sole determinant, but instead they are more in pursuit of self-interest and flexibility and autonomy. And realistic utilitarian. It has become an important force in determining the direction of the situation in the Northwest. In the Song Dynasty, the geographical pattern of the Northern Song Dynasty, the Western Xia and the Tibetan regime formed in the northwest of China. The aborigine Tribes of Xihe area is just in the transition zone and strategic junction of the three regimes, and thus has become the main target of military competition, political solicitation and economic temptation in Tibetan regime,Western Xia and Northern Song Dynasty. The aborigine Tribes of Xihe area belongs to the Song Dynasty. Not only can the Song Dynasty use this way to contact the Tibetan regime,Uighur and Western Regions, they can use the right wing to outsource Western Xia and cut off their right arm to gain a strategic advantage, and they can maintain the Silk Road commercial trade. In exchange for strategic commodities such as horses, the maneuverability and resistance to Western Xia operations are enhanced. The aborigine Tribes of Xihe area belonged to Western Xia,which not only cut off the Song Dynasty's ties with Tibetan regime,Uighur, and Western Regions, controlled the trade between East and West and grabbed economic benefits, but also formed a military deterrent to the Song Dynasty's Qinzhou town and Bashu hinterland. The Tibetan regime regards aborigine Tribes of Xihe area as a strategic barrier and buffer zone for the invasion of the Western Xia and the Northern Song Dynasty. He did not hesitate to provide support by force and became a strong backing to prevent the aborigine Tribes of Xihe area from being annexed by the Western Xia or the Northern Song Dynasty. The characteristics of the erratic and pluralistic diplomacy of the aborigine Tribes of Xihe area are the result of the influence of the changes in the geographical relations between the Northern Song Dynasty, the Western Xia and the Tibetan regime. In turn,it affected the economic relations, information communication, cultural exchanges, ethnic integration, and border formation between the Northern Song Dynasty, the Western Xia,and the Tibetan regime, which in turn affected the geography of the Northwestern region of the Song Dynasty.
