A Study Of The Xu'ertan

"Xu'ertan" is a long lost novel in the Ming dynasty,this paper takes "Xu'ertan" as the research object.In addition to the introduction,conclusion and references,the paper is divided into three chapters.The introduction first explains the research status,methods and significance of the novel,and briefly introduces the edition and the author of the book.The first chapter studies the compilation of "Xu'ertan",and on the basis of analyzing the construction of the novel,discusses the background,the gains and losses of the compilation and its significance.The second chapter,combining with the text,discusses the social features of Jiangnan in the Ming dynasty reflected in the novel.It mainly focuses on three aspects: the cultural atmosphere of chongwenshangjiao,the diversified folk customs and the idea of attaching importance to commerce.The third chapter discusses the value and influence of "Xu'ertan"."Xu'ertan" embodies the historical value of novels,the value of literature and historical materials and the value of folk culture,and has a far-reaching impact on later novels,operas and other worksof the Ming and Qing dynasties.
