Faces are full of human social communication. As an importa nt factor, face attraction also influences people's communication process.Meanw hile, the social communication process also influences people's evaluation of fac e attraction.Based on this question, this study makes a hypothesis and proves it in this empirical study. In this study, college students were selected as the subje cts.Based on the typical social situations: cooperation and competition,a new paradigm that was more natural was selected: the model adapted from "block g ames" to initiate different social situations. The new paradigm has good ecologi cal validity and startup effectiveness. This study aims to explore and test the eff ective priming of the new paradigm, and to explore the differences in the rating s of facial attractiveness of individuals in relatively natural social situations. The n,self-affirmation is introduced to explore the factors influencing the ratings of facial attractiveness of individuals in different social situations. The pre-experiment of this study is divided into two parts: a and b.The p re-experiment a selects face materials for the formal experiment, and the pre-ex periment b tests the effectiveness of the situational initiation of the "building bl ock game" paradigm.Research for 3(social status: alone/cooperation/competition)x 2(gender: male/female)between the subjects of design,an experimental veri fication by b effective situation started paradigm "board games" in the laborator y environment to start to social status,to explore the social status of different i nfluence on face attractiveness ratings, through the analysis of the results, under the condition of competition(failure),women of all faces attractiveness ratings average is lower than the competition(victory),cooperation of the control grou p and the attractiveness ratings. The experimental design and purpose of study 2are similar to that of study 1,but different from that of study 1,social activat ion under real situations is adopted.Study 2 tests the start-up effectiveness of "block games" in study 1 and verifies the results of study 1.Study 3 was designed between 2(competition result: victory/defeat)×2(self-affirmation exercise:with practice/without practice)subjects.Based on study 1 and study 2,self-affir mation theory was introduced to explore the influencing factors for the differenc es of female face attractiveness rating under the competition result. The results o f study iii showed that the self-affirmation exercise given to female participants after competition(failure)reduced the defensive response caused by the low se lf-affirmation level of the participants in the high-threat state, and made the wo men more objective in the evaluation criteria of the subsequent faces.Three studies have come to the following conclusions:(1)the new paradigm of natural interaction is adopted: "block games" can effectively initiate cooperative and competitive situations, and enable the subjects to have a good experience of competitive results.(2)both male and female face attractiveness were initially rated at the sa me level.(3)different social status had an effect on the attractiveness rating of femal e subjects' faces, but no effect on males.(4)self-affirmation exercises can improve women's self-affirmation level,w eaken the defense response after the threat experience, and make women mainta in more objective rating criteria in the subsequent face attractiveness ratings.
