The mutually beneficial business relationship established between the Italian merchants and the king reached its peak in the 13th-15 th century. This kind of trade and investment ties allowed the king, who was unable to support himself depending on his own territory,to continue to maintain the extravagant life of the court and also provided an economic basis for his military action. For Italian merchant, they funded the British wool supplier to ensure an adequate and continuous supply of wool for them to benifit from overseas trade. However,in the transaction of borrowing and lending, the king who did not repay the debt eventually brought down the Italian businessmen,so these Italian businessmen emigrating from the United Kingdom had to quit on after another.Nevertheless, the market they have opened for England's wool didn't disappear, and in the days that follow really brought opportunities for the rise of British domestic commerce. This paper will be divided into five parts, each of which is as follows:The first is an introduction, which mainly introduces the reasons for choosing the topic of the thesis and the significance of the research. It also analyzes the meaning of the basic concepts appearing in the article,as well as summarizes the current situation of research at home and abroad. The second part mainly studies the backward development of British local business and the phenomenon of that the traditional feudal income could not meet the king's needs during the period of Edward I to Edward III,which led to the influx of Italian merchants who at that time dominated overseas trade. The third part mainly introduces the Italian companies' merchants entering the British market, the scale of these companies and the investment activities of Italian merchants after entering the UK,that is,to obtain privileges in British trade by lending to the king and the nobles and injecting funds into local wool production activities to ensure that they have sufficient supplies for them to sell.In this way,not only did the king have huge sums of money to guarantee his war and royal life, but the Italian merchants also benefited greatly. The fourth part mainly expounds the reasons why Italian merchants finally withdrew from Britain from the end of the 13 th century to the end of the 14 th century.During this period,Italian merchants encountered the king's credit crisis and faced the challenge of competition from Hansa,British merchants and other business groups. In the case that all the problems were handled improperly inside the Italian company, they can only choose to gradually exit the British market. The fifth part: When the British merchants had the ablility to compete with the foreign merchants, the British King also introduced a policy to restrict wool exports and encourage woolen exports, which is to protect the interests of domestic merchants This removed the business privileges of Italian businessmen in the UK,created more opportunities for the development of local businessmen, and further promoted the rapid development of business throughout the United Kingdom.
