As a famous contemporary jewish writer,Philip Milton Roth(1933-2018)has always been a hot topic in the academic circle for the research on the ethical dilemma faced by his works in jewishness and Americanization. However, the research mainly focuses on the late novels of Roth, especially the "American Trilogy",which pointis out that his works are concerned about the mood of the confused jewish alienated people who are integrated into the American society, his transboundary of the traditional jewish ethics, and the text embodiment of the contemporary American social problems. The analysis of the early works of Zuckerman series also focuses on the subversion of the jewish moral order and the postmodern writing technique of his "meta-novel",and the analysis of the hidden holocaust narrative focuses on the study of trauma.Taking the three works of Zuckerman series as examples, this paper points out that Roth's writing of American jews is not only focused on the adherence to or the action elements that follow the traditional jewish ethical rules, but focuses on the personal desire for privacy and the freedom of artistic creation and life experience through the artistic creation perspective of intellectuals.Through the construction of Zuckerman as the author's ventriloquist the Zuckerman series novels implicitly express the freedom concept of artistic creation that Roth insists on and the subversive reflection on the moral rules of reality, which is based on the integration of real life elements into the fictional world of writing. In the fictional art world and extreme experience, the extension of the moral boundary that cannot be completed in reality can be realized,so as to find the value and meaning for individual free choice. The introduction part puts forward that the research of this paper focuses on three novels: The Ghost Writer,The Prague Orgy and The Counterlife, and sorts out the domestic and foreign research related to Zuckerman's series of novels, which points out that this paper takes the spatial logic of the narrative of the novel as the order of writing, and analyzes from the perspectives of the moral public opinion disputes faced by the scattered American jewish community, the totalitarian oppression of jewish artists in Prague and the ideological conflicts associated with Zionism. The first chapter discusses the conflict between Zuckerman's artistic creation and the jewish ethics of Newark community. The paper discusses Zuckerman's spiritual pilgrimage tour is seeking the artistic creation of identity, writing in the rebelling Zuckerman reflects at an intermediate state of jewishness and American jewish intellectuals of individual choice,Roth realizes the presence in the text through the construction of ventriloquist Zuckerman, and through the tension between reality and fiction text Roth realizes the self rebelling written defense. The narrative rewrite to Anne holocaust further reflects the that Rose breaks through the dilemma of modernity in the face of the jewish holocaust memory. The respect for individual freedom under the force of history came into reality via the search through art.The second chapter discusses the oppression of totalitarian regime in Prague in eastern Europe to the creation of the artists.Roth's writing focus on the question of the plight of the jewish artists and points out his hope in despair and resist. The paper analyzes the institutional causes of the dilemma from the surveillance mechanism of the secret police and the history of the banality of evil. The author puts forward that totalitarianism is a modern continuation of the Nazi machinery that was the source of the holocaust through text symptom of searching for the Yiddish manuscript. The concentration camp is a commonality problem faced by every Jew or modern people after Auschwitz concentration camp.Chapter three discusses the ideological crisis of Zionism in Palestine.Paper points out the zionist's views and evaluation of various schools.Roth realizes a polyphonic exchange of ideas and dialogue via the shape of representative in the text. And at the same time,This paper further points out the connection between Zionism and the hidden narrative memory of the holocaust in Zuckerman's series of novels. The disaster of the holocaust provides a certain legitimacy basis for political Zionism. The paper also makes clear Roth's neutral writing attitude based on rationality from the analysis of the antisemitic phenomenon in Britain. The conclusion further points out clearly that Roth's writiting of the traditional jewishness is not based on the re-return and continuation under the modernity context, but from the standpoint of the choose of individual's freedom, which combines the artistic freedom and the realization of individual's freedom of life.To sum up,Roth's jewish reflection goes beyond the limits of the United States and extends to the political space in eastern Europe and the war space in the Middle East in the post-holocaust era.Through the virtual autobiographical writing and the representation of Zuckerman, the boundary between the real reality and the fictional text is blurred,so that the extreme experience of artistic freedom can transcend the moral constraints and achieve individual's freedom. The reflection on the holocaust breaks through the limitation of modern rational thinking and focuses on the ethical choice of individual's free will.
