Eastward spread of Western Culture,which leads to conflict and blending between Eastern and Western culture during the early 20 th century.With the appearance of woman schools and woman art education,Chinese women have the chance to receive formal education instead of studying at home,their independent consciousness has awakened gradually,a number of influential female artists entered Chinese painting-circle with their own names that has shocked society dominated by male during the long history.The female artists who served as a link between past and future exploring their painting-style meanwhile they also convey subjective feeling and extensive value of Chinese woman supported by images.No matter the East or the West,the sense of woman extensive as weak as air in common,however it is not an obstruction for producing the superior women artists.The subject of thesis is Guan Zilan and Qiu Di who graduate from academy of fine arts and continue oil painting abroad in Japan,they actualized amalgamation of western method and eastern cultural connotation,although Guan and Qiu are not the greatest artists,they are excellent national female artists who are loyal to the arts and faithful to the nation.As representations of the female artistic group in this era,the historical significant and contemporary value should not have forgotten by us in today's world.Combing the hard art process of Guan and Qiu from boudoir to world,comparing the external form and inner emotional expression in fine arts,combining artworks of male in the same period,summarize the artistic characteristics:independence,nationality and rational concept,further elaborate the realistic function of society issues and historical aesthetics by paintings.Comparing with the artistic features of contemporary women artists,from a feminist perspective that presenting the development of emotional characteristics and artistic style in women's painting,the investigation of the first generation of female oil painters since of modern China,which is beneficial to replenishing woman artists in the art history and modern art development.
