With the development of tourism industry home and abroad, guide interpretation becomes increasingly important. In the process of tour guide's presentations,it is always accompanied by numerous culture imageries with local characteristics.Culture imagery is a relatively fixed cultural symbol with unique cultural meaning formed in the historical development of various nationalities. Therefore, the translation of culture imagery is the key for tourists to understanding the culture of tourist destinations and conducting effective communication. The author's interpreting practice task is the guide interpretation. As zhangjiajie is an ethnic minority area,a large number of culture imageries appear in the guide's presentations.Due to the author's lack of understanding of local cultures, lots of culture imageries were missing in the process of interpretation.Consequently, the tourists misunderstood local cultures, thus resulting in communicative barriers. Therefore, the interpretation of culture imagery is worthy of discussion.Based on the Interpretive Theory and the triangular model of interpreting process, the paper analyzes the loss of culture imagery in the guide interpreting practice from the perspective of word correspondence and sense equivalence and puts forward coping strategies so as to better interpret culture imageries in tourism regions, popularize cultures, broadcast tourism landscape and achieve the purpose of effective communication.
