| Zhang Yimou,one of the most famous directors in China,has created one legend after another in the film industry and has won numerous awards at domestic and foreign film festivals(exhibitions),such as Golden Bear,Gold Lion,Golden Horse Award and Gold Rooster Award,which makes him gain a large number of fans.In a series of films directed by him,the male moves from the center to the edge while the female transfers from the edge to the stage and the female body in the images carries profound cultural connotation and conveys the director’s creative intention.The body is full of multiple words.From 1987 to 2019,Zhang Yimou’s films dramatically changed the ways of the representation of women’s bodies.By analyzing and interpreting Zhang Yimou’s films from the perspective of the female body narration,we can find the deeper cultural meaning contained by the films and identify the cultural value orientation of his films.Based on the previous research about the films of Zhang Yimou,especially by watching his movies carefully,the paper studies the ways of the female body narration from the films directed by him in recently 30 years,comprehensively researches the features of the female body narration and the female consciousness showed by his films and explores the female consciousness and identify what the era culture affects the female body shape with literature analysis,interdisciplinary research method,case analysis and other methods under the support of some theories,such as body narratology,semiotics and feminist theory.The paper is mainly divided into seven chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly explains the origin of research,research status,research methods,innovations,and related concepts involved in this article.The second chapter is about the female body and the narrative of Zhang Yimou’s film.This part mainly explores the linkage between female body and Zhang Yimou’s film narration,and then puts forward that female body is the "meta" language of film creation,which implies female consciousness while promoting the development of film narration.The third chapter is the female body image groups of Zhang Yimou’s films.According to the types of the female body presented in his movies,the female body images can be divided into 4 kinds,which namely the body of erotic free,the body of sickly madness body,the body of birth tool,the body of capital substitution.And then it is to study the features of those female body images combing with the text of the films.The fourth chapter is the female body narrative feature of Zhang Yimou’s films.From the perspective of female body narration,this paper explores the influence of female body on Zhang Yimou’s film narration from four aspects: the narrative strategy of "describing body parts",the narrative standpoint of "regulating female body",the narrative motivation of "female body full of desire",and the narrative mode of "the conflict between body,spirit and flesh".The fifth chapter is about the evolution of female narrative discourse in Zhang Yimou’s films.Taking 1990 and 2000 as the dividing point,this chapter explores the changes of the narrative discourse of female body in Zhang Yimou’s films in three periods with time as the clue,that is,it analyzes how Zhang Yimou’s films present female bodies under the background of different times and which way the female consciousness behind the body narrative in context of different times exists in? The sixth chapter is the limitation of the discourse of female body narration in Zhang Yimou’s films.This paper analyzes and criticizes the three limitations of Zhang Yimou’s films,which are namely the expression of male-dominated,the degeneration of women’s true temperament and the catering to consumer culture,thus exploring the development space of Zhang Yimou’s films’ female body narration.Finally,there is a conclusion.It is a systematic summary and evaluation of the female body narrative of Zhang Yimou’s films over the past 30 years.While fully affirming the fact that the awareness female autonomy is shown through female body narratives in his films,it puts forward that the idea of sacrificing women’s bodies for business is inadvisable under the vision of consumer culture.It also call on Chinese film creators to be vigilant about the female body falling into the jail of consumerism and patriarchal discourse,only in this way can women get rid of the fate of “being watched”,and women’s images can make great progress in the video!... |
