| In 916,yilu abaoji,head of the nomadic khitan people,proclaimed himself emperor and established the khitan state(liao).In its territory lived the khitan,han,nuzhen,xi in various ethnic groups.In the communication and interaction among different nationalities,liao’s rule showed the ruling ideas of nomads and the ruling ideas of the central plains dynasty,and was reflected in the living conditions of all kinds of people.The identity of liao slaves is a good proof.Men-servants were always placed in a very low position in ancient Chinese society,and their identity was restricted under the system of good and cheap.In the grassland nomadic khitan upper class as the ruling core of the liao regime under the liao dynasty slave identity and what kind of reality?Taking the history of liao as the basis of historical materials,through the analysis of historical materials,it was found that the word "slaves" appeared in laws and decrees in liao dynasty,and most of them were the provisions of their social status.This shows that the liao dynasty slaves are not commonly known as the social but social identity.As for the slaves in liao dynasty,the slaves in liao dynasty had criminal origins,slaves were forced to be slaves,and lovers sold themselves as slaves.The status and nature of slaves in liao dynasty changed with the promulgation of imperial edicts.After the reign of emperor xing of liao dynasty,the slave and maidservant status of liao dynasty was maintained,which included servants in addition to slaves in the class.On the macro level,from the perspective of the public order,the good and the low order,through the comparison with the other dynasties,we find that the liao slaves were in the light of the good and the low order.On the micro level,from the perspective of private social relations,slaves and maidservants in the liao dynasty were the quasi-family members of the master family,and the master family provided food and clothing.The slave and maidservant take care of the master’s food and living,and take care of all aspects of the master’s life.There is a division between master and slave,and a division between superior and inferior.The formation and evolution of slave identity in liao dynasty also confirmed the development of liao society.The system of "good and cheap" in ancient China started from the zhou dynasty and developed continuously.It was formed in the wei and jin dynasties,reached its peak in the tang dynasty and then collapsed.Liao was in the period of the decline and disintegration of the good and low order of China,but the decline of the system did not mean the end of the good and low order.After the social transformation,the liao dynasty needed a good and cheap order to guarantee its rule. |
