Three Models Of Narration Of Sex Power In Sex Narrative Literature

In sexual narrative literature,the author tries to express the concealed sexual discourse,which makes this kind of literary text controversial.This kind of controversy is to show the desire of sex and attempts to describe it in the text while the society is apparently banning the exposure of sex content.It is in this field that Foucault abandons the traditional view that power is evil.Different from the study of power from a macro view,he advocated studying the power from the micro view,that is,relation associated power in various power relations which is a kind of power that functions in various fields.It is in this micro and local field that Foucault believes that the power relationship is mobile,unstable and reversible.It is a strategic game for the two parties of the power relationship,an interactive game.Therefore,there are three narrative models in the research of sexual narrative literature,which focus on the sexual power relationship between men and women.This paper consists of three parts: introduction,body and conclusion.The introduction is on the significance and purpose of the study,the current study summary and innovative points.The body consists of three parts:The first chapter is the narrative text of sexual violence,taking Lin Yihan’s Fang Siqi’s First Love Paradise and Naipaul’s Guerrillas as examples.This part attempts to study the violence in a field,free of power relationship,where a person is completely subject to the other.In such field the violence is only the complete power suppression from the strong party to the weak party till that the self subjectivity of weak party is gradually weakened and dissolved and even destroyed.These two texts reflect the destruction is a different kind fo way,that is,self destruction and destruction by others.The second chapter is the narrative text of sexual repression,taking Lawrence’s Sons and Lovers and Jelinek’s The Piano Teacher(Die klavierspielerin)as examples.They are both on mother’s control and repression of children,which lead to the possibility of other new relationships when the children’s affection to mother overflows.The narrative focus of this kind of model is how the protagonist overflows the affection and in which way the abnormal affection overflows and realizes the independence of the protagonist’s self subjectivity.However,there is no new relationship established in both story endings,and there is only failure for both of the story protagonists.In contrast to Wang Xiaobo’sGolden Age which is the narrative of sexual reversal,Dongxi’s book The Regret is a narrative of sexual repression in the face of social discourse power.The third chapter is the sexual reversal narrative.According to Foucault’s view on the power and resistance,the key is to realize the strategic reversal of the relatively weaker party by "using the diversity of body,joy and knowledge and the resistance possibility to oppose the control of power".It is a narrative model that is opposed to the narrative of sexual violence.Lady Chatterley’s Lover is a reversal narrative of the story between Melles,a man at the bottom of the class,with the dame Connie,in which the reversal is easily realized by the author through the penile worship;The French Lieutenant’s Woman is a reversal narrative of the story between Sarah,a woman at the bottom of the class,with the nobleman Charles,in which the key is Connie’s resistance to the receptive of social discourse;Lolita is a reversal narrative of the story between the underage woman Lolita with the adult male Humbert,in which the key is Lolita’s stronger self subjectivity and tough attitude towards sexual power discipline compared with that of Fang Siqi;In the book Carmen,it becomes a model of rebellious image and reversal narrative with the spirit of freedom empowered by the author in the Carmen who is a female of the bottom class and is imitated by writers in later generations;WangXiaobo’s Golden Age is a reversal narrative of social discourse power in the story between Wang Er and Chen Qingyang,in which the key,similar to Sara,is their resistance to the receptive of the social discourse on the woman who has affairs with other man.In the conclusion part,it briefly describes the internal relevance between these texts and emphasizes again that there is not only tragic ending for the weak party in the narrative texts,but also the possibility of positive narrative ending,which is a positive sociological significance of literature study.
