Video game is a new game mode in the Internet era.Compared with traditional games,it takes mobile phone,computer,iPad and other electronic devices as the carrier,and is a game mode that operates specific characters to complete related tasks.Most of the products in the game market contain aggressive content and violent tendency,and some studies have pointed out that children's exposure to violent games can increase their attack level and increase their aggressive behavior.However,the impact of the variety of video games is that the key to the advantages and disadvantages lies in the content itself,and some video games containing positive and healthy content,such as prosocial video games,can have a positive effect on children.At present,college students are the main subjects in the discussion of prosocial video games and prosocial behaviors,the relationship between video games and children's prosocial behaviors is not enough,and there is a lack of follow-up investigation on the changes of children's prosocial behaviors after long-term prosocial video games.Primary school children aged 7-13 are in a period of rapid and critical individual development,the research on video games and children's social development needs to be further verified whether prosocial video games are bound to induce children to make more prosocial behaviors,whether they are influenced by situational characteristics and whether they will continue to be affected for a certain period of time.Therefore,this study carried out three empirical studies:In study 1,179 children aged 7-13 were selected as subjects to explore the short-term effect of prosocial video games on prosocial behavior of children and the development trend of prosocial behavior of children of different ages in two kinds of video games.Study 2 selected 320 children aged 7-13 as subjects to explore the short-term effect of prosocial video games on prosocial behavior of children in general and emergency situations and the development and trend of prosocial behavior of children of different ages.In study 3,the long-term effects of social video games on prosocialbehavior were tested by 707 children aged 10-13 by tracking the study.The results are as follows:(1)Older children have more prosocial behaviour than younger children.Prosocial video games have a significant impact on children's prosocial behavior,children in prosocial games group have more prosocial behavior than children in neutral games group,and prosocial video games have a greater impact on children aged 10 and 13 than on children aged 7.(2)Children do more prosocial behaviour in general situations than in emergency situations.In general situations,children in prosocial play groups make more prosocial behaviors than children in neutral play groups;in emergency situations,children in prosocial play groups make more prosocial behaviors than children in neutral play groups.(3)The more prosocial games children play,the higher the prosocial behavior tendency after three months;the higher the prosocial behavior tendency children are more willing to choose prosocial games when playing games,and the higher the prosocial game contact score after three months.The conclusions are as follows:(1)There are differences in prosocial behavior among children of different ages,and prosocial video games have significant effects on prosocial behavior of children and have age differences.(2)Prosocial video games can promote the prosocial behaviour of children in both general and emergency situations.(3)The influence of prosocial video games on children's prosocial behavior has both short-term and long-term effects.
