Research On Zhang Juzheng’s Straight Explanation Of The Annotated Analects

In the early years of Wanli,the society was turbulent,and the emperor was young.As the first assistant of the imperial court and the emperor’s teacher,Zhang Juzheng always adheres to the educational concept of "all for the sake of Ming Dynasty",and has played an indispensable role in all aspects of training Emperor during Wanli.For the purpose of strengthening the education of the royal family and creating a wise emperor,Zhang Juzheng personally presided over the lecture,formulated a detailed plan for the Emperor Wanli and compiled handouts.In order to help Emperor Wanli understand the essence of the Analects of Confucius,Zhang Juzheng wrote the Straight Explanation of the Annotated Analects as the Lecture Notes.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this paper has five parts.This study starts from five parts:the background of Straight Explanation of the Annotated Analects,the comparative analysis with the Analects of Confucius Annotation,the structural characteristics,main ideas and historical contributions of Straight Explanation of the Annotated Analects.Zhang Juzheng believes that "practical philosophy" is a good way to promote social reform.Therefore,he chose to inherit Zhu Xi’s Annotations of the Analects when compiling Straight Explanation of the Annotated Analects.However,due to the combined effects of different audiences and other structural factors,the style and logical structure of instruction and interpretation with the characteristics of royal education have been formed.In the course of exegesis and teaching,Zhang Juzheng focused on elucidating the political ideas of emperor Wanli’s cultivation and governing the country,including cultivating virtues,selecting talents,and emphasizing people’s livelihood,in order to achieve the goal of reaching the Emperor Yao and Shun and the propose of to be used.This also reflects Zhang Juzheng’s practical academic thought.The Straight Explanation of the Annotated Analects as a royal reader,there are strong political colors among the words.Under the social background of the popularity of psychology,the Straight Explanation of the Annotated Analects opened up a new research path with its unique cultural value and practical function.As a textbook of the Analects of Confucius,the Straight Explanation of the Annotated Analects not only provides an educational reader for the royal family,but also enriches the theoretical connotation of the history of the Analects of Confucius.Zhang Juzheng demonstrate that Neo-Confucianism is still the official ideology of the court certification in society with the Straight Explanation of the Annotated Analects,and the basic proposition of teaching students according to their aptitude also provides a diversified evolution paradigm for the study of The Analects.By sorting out and analyzing the style,structure,writing characteristics and logical style of the Straight Explanation of the Annotated Analects,it not only helps to reveal the early ideological trends and royal education in Wanli,but also presents Zhang Juzheng’s political,ideological and educational concepts,providing a diachronic view of contemporary political philosophy research.
