Direct Social Perception(DSP)has attracted widespread attention in the past decade about the problem of other minds,in the mainstream academic fields such as philosophy of mind, cognitive science, and phenomenology. In the field of mind philosophy,DSP refers to that we can sense the mental state of others without reasoning, which is direct,immediate,pre-reflective and automatic.According to DSP,I don’t observe behavior first, and then infer mental state.Instead,I just see the state of mind in action.Generally, there are two sides to solve other minds problems: From the standpoint of inference and non-inference,DSP is on the side of other minds’ non-inference position. On other’s mind and behavior relationship,DSP is different from the behaviorism: that all mental states are the same or can be reduced to behavior, and reasoning of causality: That is,by inductive analogy to understand his mind is based on the causal relationship between mind and body.It is a coupling constitutes relationship,is a kind of inevitable relationship, this is also the significance of DSP.DSP involves the following four characteristics: the irreducibility of action, the inseparability of inner and outer, the integrity of structure and fuction, and the complementarity between inner and outer. At the same time,by summarizing the relevant concepts of the whole, this paper also raises questions about the existence of problems in the theory of direct social perception, from the perspective of emotion and intention, and from the perceptive of sufficient and necessary conditions. Finally,it is proved that DSP has its rationality, but it cannot replace the traditional path of deductivism, and both ways of reaching other minds should complement and perfect each other.
