A Study Of Mongolian Scholar Hua Shana In Qing Dynasty

In the late Qing Dynasty,most of the Manchu and Mongolian ethnic minorities lived in the Central Plains took the initiative to receive Han culture education,which led to the emergence of a large number of literati of Manchu and Mongolian ethnic minorities who wrote Chinese poems at that time.Mongolian literati Hua Shana is one of the typical representatives.Hua Shana was born into a Mongolian official family.The prominent status of the family and the marriage of nobles gave him more opportunities to receive education and influence of the Han culture,and thus he had a deeper cultural accomplishment.After stood out in the imperial examination he met Mongolian and Han literati extensively,chaired and participated in the literati collection,which greatly improved his literary creative skills.Hua Shana had a wide range of hobbies throughout his life,he loved piano,chess,calligraphy and painting,his extant work is rather rich.For instance,Chu Sai Za Yong,Yun Xue Ji,The Diary of Yunnan,Dong Shi Ji Cheng,Han Jie Lu,The Chronology of De Zhuang Guo Gong,Die Ying Zhi Gao,Jia Sheng Gan Zhu etc.and lots of manuscripts have survived.This paper researches the Qing Dynasty Mongolian literati Hua Shana from the following aspects.Firstly,based on the times background and relevant information,researching his family background and life story.Secondly,in order to understand the role that the social circle centered on the Mongolian literati Hua Shana played that promoted the progress of literature blending between Manchu and Han in the late Qing Dynasty,this paper will research the literati who have important contacts with Hua Shana by studying Hua Shana's official career and literary social activities.Thirdly,combining with the poetry works of Hua Shana,this paper will analyze the poetry contents and artistic characteristics of his poems.Finally,this paper will discuss the unique charm by studying the literary works of Hua Shana's works except his poems.
