Since the reform and opening up,China attaches more and more importance to the development of student education,and the scale of English education is also expanding.However,the development of English education in urban and rural areas is unbalanced.English itself is a weak subject for urban students,for rural junior high school students are more weak,especially in the examination paper reading comprehension this is a very test of students' comprehensive ability of English high score test,students are difficult to get the ideal score.Therefore,it is an important and arduous task for every rural junior high school English teacher to deepen the understanding of the current situation of rural junior high school students' English reading ability,as well as the causes and find the corresponding solutions.This research mainly adopts questionnaire survey to obtain the current situation of rural junior high school students English reading ability,through further analysis,interviews of students and teachers influence the cause of rural junior high school students English reading ability.Based on the constructive learning theory and effective teaching theory,the author uses relevant reading strategies and skills to organize.The analysis of 223 junior high school students and three English teachers shows that:(1)Students' own factors include four aspects: insufficient vocabulary,inability to use discourse analysis,lack of understanding of the background of the article,and lack of reading strategies.(2)The factors of teachers include four aspects: sticking to the traditional teaching concept;secondly,not paying too much attention to cultivating students' reading habits;teaching methods are not novel enough;and their own professional reserve needs to be improved.Finally,according to the researchresults,the author puts forward the following suggestions for the above factors:(1)Students need to strengthen vocabulary memory.(2)Learn to use discourse analysis to understand the text.(3)Learn more about your cultural background.(4)Students should master the suitable reading method.(5)The teacher must learn to use the new teaching mode.(6)Teachers should cultivate the students' reading habits.(7)A professor who focuses on students' reading strategies in class.(8)Encourage students to take an active part in the English reading contest.(9)Constantly improve teachers' professional knowledge.I hope these can provide some help to rural junior high school students and school English teachers.
