The ceramic art revolution happened in the 1950's in Japanese and America,which leaded by the ceramic community of the "Crawling on Mud" and the "Otis Clay",was opened a new era of the world history of ceramic arts,breakthrough the limitations of traditional ceramic concepts,and fundamentally overturned the container-based that has long dominated,Build the formal language of modern ceramic art based on giving play to its uniqueness.This thesis uses the literature research method to explore the modernity of ceramic art,that is,the breakthrough of the concept of ceramic art and the expressiveness of abstract ceramic art through the modern ceramic art reform movement in Japan and the United States.Through the form analysis method,it analyzes the emotional presentation of the Japanese and American pottery works and the formal language of their artistic expression in the process of concept breakthrough.It recognizes the essence of modern pottery is modern art with unique earth and fire as raw materials.The work has a clear modern consciousness,pays attention to the emotions of modern society and modern people,and breaks through the creation of ceramic art for the purpose of practicality,appreciation and decoration.Through the analysis and study of borrowing multiple creative languages,the author opened up his horizons for ceramic creation in the future and provided multiple possibilities.This thesis is divided into three parts.The first part briefly outlines the modernity of ceramic concepts.Taking the pioneers of Japanese and American ceramic arts as examples,by studying the rise and development of the Japanese and American ceramic art movement and their aesthetic concepts The connotation of the times,a thorough understanding of modern ceramic art concepts,and a correct understanding of the nature of modern ceramic art;The second part explores the formal language and emotions of modern ceramic art from the three aspects of surface decoration,cutting and reorganization of abstraction,and abstract modern modeling through the study of the formal language of the works of Japanese and American and Western modern art masters and potters.Expression,providing more possibilities for future ceramic art creation;The third part elaborates the creative process of the series of pottery works of "Metaphor",and expounds the formal language of emotional expression from the aspects of material,form and technology.
