Continuation task is a new writing method combining reading with writing.The interactive guidance continuation task is from the Theory of Interaction and Alignment and it is a writing teaching method that has emerged in recent years.It emphasizes that based on the reading materials,the teacher designs interactive guidance tasks to effectively associate language form,meaning,communicative function and discourse context so that there is a construction of a three-dimensional target language.In the continuation task class,the teacher assigns tasks and the students complete the continuous writing independently according to the task instructions,during which there is lack of monitoring and guidance for the students to read back the reading materials.Generally speaking,students fail to writing a passage that is consistent with the reading materials in language,text and thinking.They finally don't achieve the interaction and coordination between reading(input)and writing(output).Interactive guidance continuation task class makes up for this defect,during which the teacher gives some guidance to the students in the process of reading the text and makes the students interact with each other so that they can get the key point of the continuous writing.In this study,two parallel classes in the second grade of a high school in Huanggang were used to conduct teaching experiments.One class was an experimental class(30 students)and the other was a control class(30 students).In the experimental class,interactive guidance continuation task is adopted,and in the control class,continuation task is performed.This research focuses on the following two issues:(1)what are the effects of interactive guidance continuation task on the accuracy of senior high school students' English writing?(2)What are the effects of interactive guidance continuation task on senior high school students' attitude towards English writing?The results of the study show that:(1)Interactive guidance continuation task has a positive influence on the improvement of vocabulary accuracy and grammar accuracy in high school students' English writing.(2)From the three aspects of affect,behavior tendency and cognition,interactive guidance continuation task has influenced the attitude of senior high school students' English writing a lot,which can improve their interest in writing,increase their enthusiasm in writing class and deepen their cognition of English writing.As a new writing teaching method,interactive guidance continuation task can effectively improve the vocabulary and grammar accuracy of students' English writing and stimulate students' interest in writing.In practical writing teaching,teachers can make full use of the interactive guidance continuation task method to effectively improve students' English writing skills.
