A Study Of Uyghur Translation Of The Metaphor Of "Fortress Besieged"

As a long-term and widely used rhetoric method,metaphor is not only a language skill,but also a reflection of the author's thinking.The choice of figurative metaphors in literary works involves all aspects,such as human beings,production and life,natural material,etc.,and the use of each metaphor has a specific meaning and function.Therefore,it is extremely important to choose the correct translation method in the metaphor translation process to accurately convey the metaphor form,content,function,etc.of the literary works,so that the target language readers can accurately obtain information such as social background and contradictions,character characteristics and emotional trends while reading.Based on modern rhetoric,this article takes the dimensional translation of the figurative rhetoric of "Fortress Besieged" as the research object,and analyzes and summarizes the four categories of metaphor classification,metaphorical body,function and translation processing methods in "Fortress Besieged".It is concluded that,while preserving the components of the metaphor type and not causing ambiguity,the metaphor can be completely equivalent in rhetorical form and meaning when it is translated;the metaphorical body of the metaphor is divided into characters,things,and specific events and maintained.After translation and analysis,it is found that there are three correspondences between Uyghur metaphor and Chinese metaphor:full correspondence,incomplete correspondence,and complete non-correspondence,and different correspondences have different forms of metaphorical correspondence;the function of metaphor is pragmatic.There are two kinds of aesthetic functions: pragmatic functions include humor function,satire function,and emphasis function.Aesthetic function has two ways to enhance artistic appeal and portray character.On the basis of fully understanding the metaphor function of the original text,the metaphor form is reproduced or the metaphor is discarded.Form,faithful original semantics and other means to achieve functional equivalence.Summarizing the types,metaphors and functions of metaphors,it is found that there are three kinds of metaphor translation processing methods: preserving metaphor images,replacing metaphor images and changing metaphor forms.Combined with the formal content,metaphor image,function,language features and habits of the source and target languages,the translation is mainly carried out by retaining the metaphor image,replacing the metaphor image and changing the metaphor form,to accurately target readers Pass the source language content and aesthetic information.
