Preliminary Exploration About Visual Presentation Of Loneliness

Loneliness is a deep emotional experience in human heart.The loneliness of artists is different because of their own experience,background,social environment and other factors.However,the formal language of the picture is the externalization of emotion,which has a distinct personality mark.The formal language reflects the spirit of the artist.Different artists' paintings convey different feelings of loneliness.When viewers appreciate artists' paintings,they often find clues from the paintings,get clues and appreciate loneliness.Inner emotion and formal language resonate everywhere.Loneliness is hidden under the coat of picture form.Form is its powerful and profound means of expression,so the visual presentation of picture loneliness is particularly important.Based on the visual presentation of the loneliness in the painting,this paper analyzes the characteristics and reasons of the loneliness in the painting of Western artists.Combined with the artist's works and life,this paper makes a visual analysis of the loneliness in the painting,and explores the creative practice,so as to study the visual presentation of the loneliness in the painting.Examples are the works of four western artists,Caspar David Friedrich,Vincent Willem Van Gogh,Edvard Munch and Andrew Wyeth.The characteristics of their loneliness are studied and analyzed from the aspects of color,composition,characters and so on,combined with their own life experience,era background and social environment.From the perspective of visual presentation of artists' works,this paper explores the characteristics of each artist's own loneliness,and uses the same analysis method to analyze the characteristics of loneliness presented in the author's works.Starting from the perspective of picture vision,this paper explores the artist's works from the perspectives of color,composition and character image of formal language.Color is a sharp tool to stir people's emotions and feelings.It's dark,graybrown and cold blue.Artists use color's own attributes to seek the visual presentation of loneliness;The horizontal composition can increase the tension and space of the picture in a limited range of paper,form a sharp contrast with the role in the picture,and present a sense of loneliness;The use of symbolism makes the people in the painting symbolize myself,use the expression and dynamic of the characters to metaphor the inner loneliness.It combines the formal language of visual presentation with the artist's experience and era to make a comprehensive exploration and analysis.The author has made further use and exploration of visual language in artistic practice.Color language: black,brown,blue and purple can create the loneliness of the picture;Composition language: compared with the horizontal line in the horizontal composition,the slightly inward curved arc can bring more tension,space and closure,so as to create a sense of loneliness in the picture;Shape Language: through the depiction of the body characteristics and dynamic of the characters in the picture,the loneliness will be presented.
