A Research Of The Artistic Features Of Wu Yue Kingdom's Stone Calligraphy In The Five Dynasties

The stone inscription of the Wuyue Kingdom in the Five Dynasties represents important materials for the study of calligraphy of the Five Dynasties,and assumes great implications for a more comprehensive grasp of the overall characteristics of the calligraphy of the Five Dynasties.Based on the political and cultural environment at that time,this paper explores the social causes,artistic characteristics and style orientation of the stone inscription calligraphy of the Wuyue Kingdom in the Five Dynasties.In light of the time and characteristics of the calligraphy style,the stone inscription calligraphy is divided into three periods: early period,middle period and late period.It is further pointed out that the early period has the main play of the running script in the style of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi,which is represented by Qian Liu;the middle period is featured by the inscription of statues;and the late period is characterized by the calligraphy style and characteristics of different periods represented by the regular script of Leifeng Tower Engraving Scripture.On the basis of the study on the style of stone inscription calligraphy of the Wuyue Kingdom in the Five Dynasties,this paper explores how to draw on experience for the author's calligraphy creation,how to absorb the nourishment of stone inscription calligraphy in the practice of calligraphy creation,and how to achieve mastery through the study.In the course of the study,the author also learns to reflect on how to absorb the law of stone inscription art of the Wuyue Kingdom in the Five Dynasties,so as to improve the calligraphy creation ability.
