A Practice Report On The Translation Of Introduction To Air Pollution Science:a Public Health Perspective

While economic development brings people material civilization and spiritual enjoyment,it also brings great pressure on the natural environment.Environmental problems,especially air quality problems,are unavoidable.In recent years,the public's attention to environmental protection has gradually increased.It is of great practical significance to introduce foreign related environmental protection books.Therefore,this practice report selects the environmental protection text Introduction to Air Pollution Science: A Public Health Perspective as the translation material,and under the guidance of grammatical cohesion,the second and third chapters of the text are translated.On this basis,the practice report analyzes the specific application of grammatical cohesion in the realization of discourse coherence.Through the four grammatical cohesive devices of substitution,ellipsis,reference and connection,the translator expounds the relationship between cohesion and coherence respectively according to the practical problems encountered in translation practice,and puts forward the specific translation methods used by the translator in these four grammatical cohesive devices,hoping to provide some references for other translators to translate such books in the future.
