This paper takes metaphor as the theoretical support and zodiac idioms dictionary as the research scope to analyze the metaphorical phenomenon in zodiac idioms and the cultural characteristics in zodiac idioms metaphors.According to people's emotional attitude towards zodiac,it can be divided into liking metaphor,awe metaphor,neutral metaphor and repellent metaphor.The analysis and summary of phenomena serve for teaching,so the next step is to explore the practice and application of the metaphor of zodiac idioms in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The thesis is mainly divided into the following parts:The first part is the introduction,which discusses the background and significance of the topic,research summary,research methods,etc.The second part takes the definition and essence of metaphor as the theoretical basis and the Chinese zodiac idioms dictionary as the research object to analyze the metaphorical phenomena and cultural characteristics contained in the twelve zodiac idioms.The third part is to explore the practical exploration of the metaphor of Chinese zodiac signs in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.By analyzing the current teaching situation of metaphor of Chinese zodiac signs,it illustrates the feasibility of metaphor in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and the significance of metaphor in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The fourth part is the teaching mode combining the metaphor of Chinese zodiac idioms with task-based teaching method.The task is designed around the cultural content of Chinese zodiac,so as to provide a method for international students to learn Chinese zodiac idioms.
