Research On Lu Jiuyuan’s Mind

Lu Jiuyuan is an important Confucian thinker in the Southern Song Dynasty.He inherited Mencius’ s theory of mind and nature,integrated the meaning and cultivation methods of Buddhism,summed up the concepts of "mind","reason" and "Tao" of the thinkers of Neo Confucianism,expounded the old and promoted the new,put forward the propositions of "mind is reason" and "my mind is the universe",and created the ideological system of "Mind Science" with distinctive characteristics of Confucian philosophy.Wang yangmingji of the later Ming Dynasty It developed into Lu Wang’s theory of mind and was opposed to Cheng Zhu’s theory.It is called "two wings of birds" and "two wheels of cars" in the Neo Confucianism of song and Ming Dynasties,which jointly promote the development of Confucianism.Lu Jiuyuan took "heart" as the highest philosophical category and "mind is reason" as the theoretical basis,and constructed the philosophical thought system of mind noumenon.Its specific contents include ontology of "mind is reason","cosmology of" universe is my mind "," human nature of "unity of man and nature" and "original mind of invention".Its ideological system is based on the relationship between "mind","original mind" and "reason",which shows the subjective initiative of human beings,especially emphasizes the moral subjectivity of human beings,expounds the inherent virtue of "original mind",advocates "inventing the original mind" and practicing the original mind,so as to realize the cultivation realm of "becoming holy".Based on the background of the formation of Lu Jiuyuan’s thought,this paper analyzes and combs Lu Jiuyuan’s thought system of mind study,and studies Lu Jiuyuan’s mind study deeply,which is of great significance to understand the Confucian tradition of mind study,and expounds the Confucian mind study thought,so as to provide a theoretical basis for today’s social moral construction.
